As this was her first meeting, she had nothing to report.  She asked the Board to let her know if they needed help with anything.

RECREATION AND PARKS STAFF REPORT/ACTIVITIES REPORT:

Mrs. Hayden discussed the following activities from her monthly memo:

Parks Operational Staff:

  • The Parks Superintendent is Tom Stambaugh. Tom has been with the Township for almost 13 years, as a Maintenance Specialist.
  • Two sets of bleachers, from Pete’s Park, have been brought to the shop for board replacement.
  • Three Fun Fort pickets, were purchased during December, to be given as Christmas presents. The pickets will be installed when the customers return the pickets to us.
  • The Fun Fort grant did not get awarded to Lower Allen Township. It was awarded to East Penn, to make updates to Adam Ricci Park. The new grant application started on the 23rd of this month.  The application period will close in April, and we should know by this fall.  If we are selected, construction in the spring of 2019, would be the projection.

Activities:

  • Field request forms have been received, and I am currently working on getting the contracts typed and executed. Pavilion and Barn reservation requests are coming in steadily.
  • Preparation for the Easter egg hunt will commence in early February. The first detail to take care of will be the Hershey Corporation donation.  I have contacted the Program Coordinator, at The Woods of Cedar Run, and they will generously donate their time to fill and help hide the eggs.
  • Please mark your calendars, for the following Township events. They will be upon us before we know it.

           a. Easter egg hunt – LACP – Saturday, March 24th   10:00am – 11:00am(8:30am for setup)

           b. Gardeners Gathering – LACP – Saturday, April 28th 10:00am – 1:00pm.
