that capture and discharge stormwater into waters of the commonwealth. The system is separate from the sanitary system. Stormwater runoff is not treated prior to entering local waterways.
Lower Allen Township Permit Information:
Lower Allen Township is required by DEP to manage a MS4 NPDES permit that covers a 5-year period. The permit requires the holder to measure its efforts to reduce pollutants in 6 different areas referred to as Minimum Control Measures (MCMs). In addition, LAT has Pollution Control Measures (PCMs) and a Pollution Reduction Plan (PRP).
Annually, Lower Allen Township must report to the state (PADEP) how they have improved, changed and managed these areas in order to maintain compliance with their permit.
Minimum Control Measures must be reevaluated annually to determine compliance with the permit.
