Parks personnel replaced rotting boards on both walking bridges, on the Beacon Hill-Allendale trail.  Pot holes and turf repair, were fixed, at the Creek Wood Park parking area.

  • The Board discussed using Trex for the bridges which lasts longer, but is more expensive, and is being approved in some DCNR grants.

Tree trimming and wood chipping are ongoing at all parks.

Tom Stambaugh, Parks Superintendent, will be attending the regular meeting in July.

Mrs. Hayden discussed the following Activities:

The Easter egg hunt was held on Saturday, April 13th.  There were approximately 215 children in attendance.  After counting the remaining goody bags, she could see that the most attended age group was the 4-6 years old, with 100 kids.  There were 50 small tikes, up to 3 years old, and approximately 65 children for the 7-10 years old group.  It was a beautiful morning, and there were about 80 different events going on in the surrounding areas on that date.  The event was a success with no problems being reported.  A big thank you to Scott Duncanson for stepping up to be the Easter Bunny and to the Recreation Board members in attendance during the vent.

West Shore School District will be parking their Book-Mobile at the LACP Barn parking lot from 9am to 10am on Wednesday, July 3rd.  The public is encouraged to stop in and purchase books.
